How to Remove Your Scariest Halloween Carpet Stains

Scary Halloween Carpet Stains

Halloween is one of our favorite holidays at Rug Doctor. It’s all about costumes, parties and gatherings, CANDY, games… and did we mention CANDY?!

Unfortunately, where there are parties, there are usually party fouls. But don’t let that ruin your fun.

Keep Rug Doctor stain remover sprays on hand for emergency situations, and follow these simple steps to remove the scariest Halloween stains from your soft surfaces.

1) How to Remove Chocolate Stains

Chocolate is a must for Halloween, but it doesn’t look (or taste) so great when ground into the carpet or sofa. No reason to scream. Instead, use Rug Doctor Spot Stain Remover to eliminate chocolate stains from all your soft surfaces.

Directions for use:

  • Remove any excess chocolate with a clean cloth or paper towel.
  • Shake the bottle and then turn nozzle to the ON position.
  • Generously spray Spot Stain Remover evenly over the affected area and let stand for 3 to 5 minutes.
  • Lightly agitate the stained area with a clean, damp color-safe sponge or cloth, working from the edge of the stain towards the center, pressing deep into the stain.
  • Blot away with absorbent white paper towel until dry.
  • Repeat as necessary, allowing area to dry thoroughly between applications.

2) How to Remove Excited Pet Stains

Halloween is an exciting time for your pets, especially if you’re having large parties and unfamiliar guests. This excitement and change in routine can sometimes cause pets to have accidents. No need to hide the accidents; instead seek them out with Rug Doctor Pet Stain Remover (see what we did there).

Directions for use:

  • Act as quickly as possible, since dried urine can sometimes have a bleaching effect on carpets and fabrics.
  • Blot away any excess urine with a clean, absorbent cloth or paper towel.
  • Turn nozzle to the ON position and generously spray area. When using for urine or other penetrating organic stains (feces, vomit, blood), be sure to thoroughly wet area allowing product to reach backing and pad. Spray beyond the stained area on the surface in case liquids expanded below the surface. Do not blot or wipe, as enzymes need moisture to work.
  • Place a damp white paper towel over the treated area and let dry naturally. Allow the area to remain moist overnight.
  • Once dry, if discoloration remains, repeat steps until stain is removed.

3) How to Remove Fake Blood and Makeup Stains

Costume makeup and fake blood can enhance a Halloween look, but it can also lead to messy makeup stains. No need to howl. We have a spray for that, too! Rug Doctor Pre-Treat Stain Remover works wonders on makeup stains.

Directions for use:

  • Remove any excess makeup with a clean, absorbent cloth or paper towel.
  • Turn nozzle and generously spray area.

  • Blot with a paper towel, pressing deep into stain.
  • Rinse with water and blot with absorbent white paper towel to dry.
