DALLAS – April 13, 2015 – Travis L. Lewis has been named the new chief executive officer of Rug Doctor® LLC, an international manufacturer and marketer of the most convenient, compact, and powerful hot water extraction carpet cleaning machines and cleaning solutions available today. Headquartered in Plano, Texas, its carpet cleaning rental machines and a full line of Rug Doctor carpet cleaning products can be found in more than 33,000 grocery, drug, hardware, and home center stores across the U.S.

“Travis is a proven leader who has demonstrated an ability to drive growth in mature companies by building collaborative, high-performance teams, challenging conventional wisdom, and leveraging technology to create meaningful business value,” said acting CEO and board member, Jack Shields.  

He was previously the president of Inmar, Inc., a technology company that operates intelligent commerce networks based in Winston-Salem, N.C. Other work experience includes leadership roles at The Home Depot, McKinsey & Company, and Procter & Gamble.

Lewis earned an MBA from Harvard Business School and a B.S. from the University of Virginia.  He currently resides in Lewisville, Texas with his wife and two children and was recently elected to the Board of Directors for his children’s school. 

Additional executive appointments for Rug Doctor include James A. Foster as the new executive vice president of sales and Janet E. Valentic as the chief marketing officer.  

Mr. Foster has held executive-level sales positions with Delonghi, Phillips Consumer Lifestyle, General Electric/NBC Universal and Gillette. Jim and his family will be relocating to Dallas from Westport, Conn.

Ms. Valentic’s previous experience includes senior marketing roles at Scotts MiracleGro Company, Young & Rubicam Brands, Ford Motor Company, and Leo Burnett Advertising. Jan will be relocating to Dallas from Dublin, Ohio with her husband.
